HPSC Civil Services Exam 2023 Pattern
The HCS exam will be a Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) comprising of the 3 stages.
Stage 1
Preliminary Examination (Objective Type/ Multiple Choice) for screening purposes only.
The HCS Prelims will comprise two papers of multiple choice questions and carry a maximum of 200 marks as under.

HCS Exam Pattern after Amendment
There will be changes in the HCS Mains pattern. As per the amendment, there will be one optional paper in the main written examination (Executive Branch and Allied Services.) There will be four papers in Mains i.e. three compulsory papers and one optional. Papers I and II will be of 100 marks each. Paper III and IV will carry 200 marks each.
